Loki is punished by having Freyr and Thor oversee the restoration of
the damaged land following the disaster in Alfheim. However, Svartalheim
starts to become darker, with gloomy rivers and menacing sky warning of
an impending danger. Odin dispatches the dwarf Hreidmarr, Helga, and
Loki to look into it. Helga is left to battle the escalating evil alone
as Loki is abruptly ripped away by evil powers as they journey into the
shadowy trees. Helga had to gather her strength in this chapter since
the destiny of Svartalheim and all the realms hangs in balance.
